Veal Steak With Mushroom Gravy Recipe
The veal steak with mushroom gravy is a filling and flavorful preparation of veal steak breaded with crumbs. Coated with egg and breadcrumbs, the veal steak strips are browned and cooked with mushroom soup and seasoned to taste. it can be served over rice or in a bowl with bread rolls.
Ingredients
1 (10 oz.) can mushroom soup
1 cup dry bread crumbs
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 lbs. veal steak (cut 1 in. thick)
1 can water
Salt and pepper
Directions
Cut steak into 10 or 12 pieces.
Dip each piece into egg, then coat thickly with crumbs which have been seasoned with salt and pepper.
Brown each piece in a hot well-greased skillet to a golden brown.
It will be necessary to add a little fat with each pan full of veal.
Place in a lightly greased stew kettle, pour in mushroom soup and an equal quantity of water and cover tightly.
Allow to simmer over low heat for about 1 1/2 hours.
