Ingredients

 
1 pound ground veal
 
1/4 cup fine, dry breadcrumbs
 
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
 
2 tablespoons skim milk
 
1 egg
 
1 clove garlic, crushed
 
1/2 teaspoon pepper
 
1/4 teaspoon salt
 
Vegetable cooking spray
 
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
 
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
 
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
 
3/4 cup skim milk
 
1/4 cup plain low-fat yogurt
 
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
 
1/4 teaspoon pepper
 
1 (5-ounce) package medium egg noodles
 
1 teaspoon poppy seeds

Directions

Combine first 8 ingredients in a large bowl; mix well.
Shape into eighteen 1 1/2 inch balls.
Coat a large skillet with cooking spray; add oil, and place over medium-high heat until hot.
Add meatballs, and cook 5 to 6 minutes on all sides or until browned.
Remove meatballs, drain on paper rowels, reserving pan drippings.
Add mushrooms to skillet; saute until tender.
Remove mushrooms, and set aside.
Combine flour and milk in skillet, stirring until smooth.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Stir in yogurt, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper.
Add meatballs and mushrooms; cook over low heat until thoroughly heated.
Cook noodles according to package directions, omitting salt; drain and place on a serving platter.
Sprinkle with poppy seeds.
Spoon meat ball mixture over noodles.
