Veal-Cheese Pie Recipe

Ingredients
1 c. onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp. shortening
1 lb. veal or hamburger
Flour
1 c. milk
Salt
Dash of pepper
3 unbeaten egg yolks
1 c. thick sour cream
3 egg whites
1 1/2 c. sharp cheese
Directions
Saute onion in shortening in skillet.
Add veal and 1 tablespoon flour.
Cook till tender.
Stir in milk, salt and pepper.
Simmer till thick, 15 minutes.
Blend egg yolks and sour cream in large bowl.
Beat well.
Stir in 2/3 cup flour and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry.
Fold into yolk mixture.
Pour half the egg mixture into well greased 9-inch pan.
Top with 1/2 the cheese.
Bake in 400-degree oven 10 minutes.
Remove and put meat mixture on top.
Pour on remaining egg mixture.
Bake 10 to 15 minutes till brown on top.
Top with remaining cheese.
Bake about 5 minutes.
