Veal In Sour Cream Recipe
Veal in sour cream is a savory and deicious veal recipe prepared with veal steak. Creamy and oodlicious, the veal in sour cream is prepared with mushrooms and is finished in the oven.
Ingredients
| 2 pounds veal steak, cut in 1 1/2 inch cubes | ||
| Onion | 1 Tablespoon, minced | |
| Mushrooms | 1/2 pound | |
| Butter | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Butter | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Flour | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 1 cup commercial sour cream | ||
Directions
Melt 3 tablespoons butter in heavy frying pan and saute meat over high heat until lightly browned on all sides.
Do not crowd in the pan; rather do a few pieces at a time.
Place meat in baking dish or casserole that has a cover.
Add flour to fat remaining in frying pan, and stir until smooth.
Then stir in the sour cream thoroughly.
Remove from heat.
In a separate pan, melt 2 tablespoons butter and cook minced onion until slightly golden, then add mushrooms (if large, slice thin; if small, leave whole), and simmer over low heat for about 5 minutes.
Combine mushrooms with sour cream mixture and salt.
Pour over veal, cover, and bake in a 325° oven for 1 hour or until meat is tender when pierced with a fork.
