Veal Chops with Ham and Cheese Recipe
Ingredients
| Veal chops | 4 , trimmed | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| black pepper | 1 | |
| Flour | ||
| Egg | 1 , beaten | |
| Fine dried breadcrumbs | ||
| 50 g / 2 oz / 1/2 stick butter | ||
| 4 thin slices ham, preferably prosciutto | ||
| Fontina Cheese slice | 4 | |
Directions
Lightly pound veal chops, and season with salt and pepper.
Dust with flour, then dip into beaten egg.
Coat each chop generously with breadcrumbs.
Heat butter in a large frying pan, and cook chops until they are golden brown on both sides.
Transfer to a heatproof dish, and lay a piece of ham and a slice of cheese on each.
Place dish under a hot grill, and cook until cheese begins to melt and bubble.
Serve immediately.
