Veal And Ham Casserole Recipe

Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds boneless veal shoulder
1/2 pound smoked ham
4 tablespoons butter
12 small white onions
2 cups canned tomatoes
2 cups beef or chicken broth
1 cup sliced celery
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
Freshly ground pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon rosemary
3 tablespoons flour
3 tablespoons water
6 small cooked potatoes
1 cup cooked peas, drained
Directions
Cut veal into serving-size pieces and ham into strips.
Brown veal in butter and transfer to buttered 2-quart casserole.
Brown onions and transfer to casserole.
Combine tomatoes, broth, celery and seasonings in skillet.
Heat and scrape brown crust from skillet.
Pour mixture over veal in casserole.
Cover and bake in a 350° F.oven for 1 hour or until tender.
Mix flour with water to form a thin paste.
Stir into stew.
Add potatoes and peas and cook 20 minutes longer.
