Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe
My passion for Vanilla Ice Cream grew during high school days. Vanilla Ice Cream served as Dessert is the best food to pep me up. The Asian Vanilla Ice Cream has an unique characteristic of addicting you to it on the first bite. I am sure both of us will be in agreement that this Vanilla Ice Cream is very delectable.
Ingredients
4 cups milk, scalded
2 eggs, separated
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup sugar
Vanilla extract to taste
Variations:
1 cup sliced peaches, strawberries or mango puree or crush
3 tablespoons sugar
toasted, sliced almonds
6 ounces grated sweet chocolate
Directions
Over low heat, scald two cups of the milk and gradually add the egg yolks, stirring constantly, until cooked and slightly thickened.
Add the remaining two cups scalded milk, stirring continuously.
In a separate bowl combine the cornstarch and sugar.
Gradually add to the milk mixture.
Cook over low heat until nicely thickened and bubbly.
Remove from heat and cool for a few minutes.
Blend in a few drops of vanilla extract.
Pour into a bowl.
Cool completely, cover and freeze.
Meanwhile, beat the egg whites until stiff.
Fold into the frozen ice cream.
Cover and freeze again.
Variations: To make peach, strawberry or mango ice cream, combine the fruit and sugar thoroughly and stir into the ice cream after it has cooled.
Cover and freeze.
If you like place a slice of the same fruit on each individual serving.
Sprinkle with the almonds.
