Vanilla Tart Filling Recipe
Ingredients
1 3/4 cup skim milk
2 tsp butter or margarine
3 tsp cornstarch
2 tsp sugar
3 pkgs. acesulfame-K
1 large egg or equivalent egg substitute
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
Heat the milk and butter over simmering water in the top of a double boiler.
In a bowl, mix together the cornstarch, sugar, and acesulfame-K.
Add the egg and then the vanilla, blending well after each addition.
Pour the cornstarch mixture into the warm milk.
Mix with a wire whisk over simmering water until the mixture is thick.
When the whisk leaves patterns, the pudding is finished cooking.
Cool before using.
