Valentine Sugar Cookies Recipe
Ingredients

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup butter or margarine softened
1 tablespoon milk
2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 egg
Directions
1. Into large bowl, measure 3/4 cup sugar, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and remaining ingredients. With mixer at low speed, beat ingredients until well mixed. Shape mixture into a ball; wrap and refrigerate 2 hours or until easy to handle.
2. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour large cookie sheet. On floured surface with floured rolling pin, roll half of dough 1/8 inch thick, keeping rest of dough refrigerated. With floured 3 1/2-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut dough into hearts. Place hearts, 1/2 inch apart, on cookie sheet.
3. In small bowl, mix 1/4 cup sugar with 1/4 tea spoon salt; sprinkle some on cookies. Bake cookies 10 minutes or until golden; remove to wire racks to cool. Repeat with remaining dough and trimmings. Store cookies in tightly covered container.
