Vaal Ni Dal Nu Pulav Recipe

Ingredients
Sprouted field beans or surti vaal dal 2 cups
Cooked rice 8 cups
Chopped green chillies 2
Cumin seeds lisp
Cinnamon 1" stick
Cloves 2
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder generally 1 tsp or according to taste
Oil 4 tbsp
Salt as per taste
Ingredients for garnishing
Chopped coriander leaves
Grated fresh coconut optional
Directions
Boil the sprouted field beans in water for about 8 minutes.
Wait for them to be fully cooked and then keep them aside.
In a heavy bottomed vessel, heat the oil till it gets very hot.
To the heated oil add the cumin seeds and wait for them to splutter.
Add the green chillies, cloves and cinnamon.
Sprinkle asafoetida, turmeric powder and red chilli powder.
For about 2 minutes, stir fry on medium or low flame.
Add the cooked sprouted field beans and the rice.
Add salt as per taste and mix it well.
Cover it and for about 10 minutes cook it on low flame.
