Ingredients

1/2 cup Split dehusked black gram

11/2 cups rice

1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds

Salt to taste

Oil for frying

Directions

Soak dal, rice and fenugreek seeds for about 3 hours.

Wash and grind it to thick paste and allow to ferment overnight (approximately 12 hrs).

Next day add salt and enough water to make it a medium thick batter.

Heat a pan, pour a laddle full of batter in the center of the hot pan. Lift the pan from fire and tilt it in circular motion to form a dosa.

When the one side is cooked add 1/2 a tsp of oil and turn over and cook on a medium flame till golden.

Serve hot with coconut chutney.

Taste of each dosa is different...urad rawa dosa is very crispy as we use rawa...urad rice dosa is very soft and masala dosa is very thin and crispy...Even a single ingredient in the dosa makes a lot of difference in taste...And the proportion of the ingredients also differ which too make a difference..
