Upside Down Pear Cake Recipe
Upside Down Pear Cake has a fine taste. Upside Down Pear Cake gets its taste from eggs mixed with flour and dressed with pears. Upside Down Pear Cake is inspired by many bakeries all over the world.
Ingredients
1/4 cup shortening
14 oz canned pear halves
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg 1/2 cup (125 ml) milk
1 cup all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 °F (190 °C).
Butter an 8 inch (20 cm) round deep cake pan.
Set aside.
In a saucepan, melt shortening.
Spread over bottom of pan.
Line with pear halves.
Add brown sugar.
Beat egg and milk.
Sift in flour, baking powder and salt, mixing well.
Pour into pan, over pear halves.
Bake in oven 1 hour or so.
Immediately turn out onto a plate.
While cake is still warm, pour fruit coulis into center of pears, if desired.
Garnish with your choice of fruit.
