Upside Down Apple Cake Recipe
Upside Down Apple Cake has a wonderful taste. Upside Down Apple Cake gets its taste from eggs mixed with flour and flavored by cinnamon. Upside Down Apple Cake is inspired by many bakeries worldwide.
Ingredients
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
3 apples
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Batter
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp salt
1/3 cup boiling water
Directions
If using a conventional oven, preheat to 325 °F (160 °C).
In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar.
Coat bottom of a square 9 inch (23 cm) pyrex dish.
Peel apples, if desired.
Cut into thick slices.
Remove core.
Place into mold.
Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Batter In a bowl, cream butter and sugar.
Fold in egg and molasses.
Set aside.
In a second bowl, sift dry ingredients.
Fold into first mixture.
While stirring, blend in boiling water.
Pour into dish, on top of apples.
Bake in conventional oven 40 minutes, or in microwave oven 12 minutes, on high.
Remove from oven.
Immediately turn out onto a plate.
Let drain.
