Unusual Apple Salad Recipe

|Cooking apples||6 Large, peeled and cored|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Canned crushed pineapple||8 Ounce, drained (1 Can)|
|Chopped walnuts||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Lemon flavored gelatin||3 Ounce (1 Package)|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Mayonnaise/Sour cream||1 Tablespoon|

Place apples in water side by side and sprinkle with the sugar.
Cover and simmer over low heat just until the apples are tender, about 15 minutes.
Cool in the liquid, remove apples, and reserve liquid.
Put each apple into a deep cup, straight-sided tumbler, or goblet (you won't be able to unmold apples if goblet curves inward at the top).
Mix the pineapple and nuts; stuff the apple cavities with the mixture.
To the liquid drained from the apples, add water if necessary to make 2 cups.
Heat the liquid and dissolve gelatin in it.
Pour gelatin mixture over apples to cover the tops.
Chill until firm.
