We had friends drop in unexpectedly, so I created this using what I had on hand. Everyone loved it! My friend later served it as an appetizer.

Directions

Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Once heated, add asafetida, green chili, onions and salt. Saute this until the onions are slightly tender. Now add the bell peppers to this and saute for 4-5 minutes. Add the tomatoes, chili powder, garam masala, coriander powder, black pepper and cover the saucepan with the lid. Turn the heat down to medium low and let this cook for 5 minutes. Now add the ketchup, siracha sauce and chili garlic sauce. Place the lid back and let it simmer for 5 minutes. You will see that a thick sauce is formed. Now add the sugar and mix this together. Now add the cubes of Paneer and gently mix it in to the sauce. Cover this with the lid and let it cook for another couple of minutes. Paneer is now ready to be served. I like to add half of the coriander leaves and mix it before serving and add the rest as a garnish.

Editors Review

Cheese appetizers are favored at most parties, here is a recipe to make one. Chef Aarsi shows how to make chili cheese using cottage cheese or paneer cubes, seasonings, vegetables and oil. Good as appetizers with sauce or with rotis, naan and rice.
