Two Spice Cake Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup butter
1 tablespoon cinnamon
2 1/4 cups sugar
Pinch of salt
5 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
3 cups sifted all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
Confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon ground cloves
Directions
Grease a 10 inch tube pan.
Cream butter until soft and light, then gradually work in sugar until mixture is very light and fluffy.
In a separate bowl beat eggs thoroughly and add to creamed mixture.
Mix well.
Sift flour with cloves, cinnamon, and salt.
Beat about one third of the flour combination into the batter, then stir in half the buttermilk.
Add another third of the flour spice combination and mix thoroughly.
Stir baking soda into remaining half cup buttermilk and mix into batter along with the remaining flour.
Pour into cake pan and bake in a preheated 350° oven 45 to 55 minutes or until cake tester comes out dry.
Cool 10 minutes, then turn out on a cake rack, and cool completely.
Sift confectioners' sugar over the top.
