Twist And Shout Chicken Drumsticks Recipe

This chicken drumsticks recipe is simple and easy to prepare. Prepared with a marinade mix of orange juice and garlic, the drumsticks are roasted with a seasoned coating of breadcrumbs with cornmeal, paprika, chili powder, mustard and cayenne for a spicy chicken dish.

Ingredients

 1/2 cup orange juice or buttermilk 125 mL
 Garlic2 Clove (5gm), minced
 12 chicken drumsticks, skin removed (3 oz/90 g each)
 Breadcrumbs1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Cornmeal2 Tablespoon
 Paprika1 Tablespoon
 Granulated Sugar1 Tablespoon
 Chili powder1 Teaspoon
 Salt1 Teaspoon
 Dry mustard1 Teaspoon
 1/2 tsp cayenne, optional 2 mL
 Ground cumin1/2 Teaspoon

Directions

In large bowl, combine orange juice and garlic.
Toss drumsticks in mixture and marinate for 10 minutes.
Shake off excess liquid.
Meanwhile, in clean plastic bag, combine breadcrumbs, cornmeal, paprika, sugar, chili powder, salt, mustard, cayenne and cumin.
Add drumsticks to plastic bag and shake in seasoned breadcrumbs until coated.
Place on non-stick or parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
Bake in preheated 350°F/180°C oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until cooked through, brown and crisp.
