Ingredients

 Turnips2 Cup (16 tbs), mashed
 Egg1
 Butter5 Tablespoon
 Savory1 Pinch
 Flour3 Tablespoon
 Milk1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Cheese - ½ cup, grated
 Salt To Taste
 Pepper To Taste

Directions

GETTING READY
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.

MAKING
2. Take a bowl and add mashed turnips, savory, egg, 2 tbsp of butter, salt and pepper and stir well.
3. Spoon the mixture into the buttered baking dish.
4. Take a saucepan and add 3 tbsp of butter, and flour and cook for 2 minutes over low flame. Stir in milk and cook until the sauce becomes smooth, thick and creamy.
5. Pour the sauce over the turnips and spoon some grated cheese over it.
6. Bake in oven for about 25 minutes until the cheese softens.

SERVING
7. Serve the turnips gratin hot as a part of buffet lunch.
