Turnips Glazed With Honey And Lemon Recipe
Turnips glazed with honey and lemon is a lovely vegetable recipe. Prepared with rutabagas if turnips are unavailable, the turnips glazed with honey and lemon is light and nutritious.
Ingredients
2 large turnips or 1 medium size rutabaga, peeled and cut into 1/2 inch cubes
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon unsalted margarine
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon rind
1/8 teaspoon white or black pepper
Directions
In a medium size heavy saucepan over moderate heat, bring 1 1/4 cups unsalted water to a boil.
Add the turnips and cook, covered, for 15 to 20 minutes or until fork tender.
Drain.
Add the honey, margarine, lemon rind, and pepper to the drained turnips in the saucepan.
Warm, uncovered, over low heat, shaking the pan gently, for 2 to 3 minutes or until the margarine has melted and the turnips are lightly glazed.
