Turnip And Date Salad Recipe
Ingredients
2 tart eating apples, peeled, cored and diced
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 medium sized turnip, peeled and finely grated
14 fresh or dried dates, stoned and coarsely chopped
2 teaspoons sugar
2 fl. oz. single cream
1 small carrot, scraped and finely grated
Directions
Place the apples in a medium sized salad bowl and sprinkle over the lemon.
Add the grated turnip and the chopped dates and sprinkle over 1 1/2 teaspoons of the sugar.
Stir Carefully with a wooden spoon until the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
Pour in the cream and, using two large spoons, toss the salad until the ingredients are thoroughly coated.
Garnish the salad with the grated carrot and sprinkle over the remaining sugar.
Add the grated turnip and the chopped dates and sprinkle over 1 1/2 teaspoons of the sugar.
