Turkish Beans Recipe
Ingredients
| 450 g/1 lb haricots verts | ||
| Onions | 2 Medium | |
| Garlic | 3 Clove (5gm) | |
| Tomatoes | 3 Medium | |
| Green pepper | 1 | |
| Ground black pepper | 1 To taste | |
| Olive oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Mixed herbs | 1 Tablespoon, chopped | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
Directions
Trim the ends of the beans.
Peel and finely chop the onions and garlic.
Skin and slice the tomatoes.
Deseed and dice the pepper.
Cook the beans in well seasoned water for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, heat the oil in a large pan, add the onions and garlic and cook gently for 10 minutes; take care they do not brown.
Add the tomatoes and pepper.
Cook for 3 to 4 minutes only, as both these ingredients should keep firm.
Strain the beans.
Mix with the other ingredients.
Top with herbs and serve.
