Turkish Zucchini Dolmas Recipe
Ingredients
| Ground beef | 1 pound | |
| Onion | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| 1/3 cup precooked rice | ||
| Milk | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 1 teaspoon chopped fresh mint leaves, or 1/4 teaspoon dried mint | ||
| 1 teaspoon chopped fresh dill, or 1/4 teaspoon dried dill | ||
| Squash zucchini | 8 Medium | |
| 2 8-ounce cans seasoned tomato sauce | ||
Directions
Combine first 8 ingredients; mix well.
Cut both ends from zucchini; with apple corer, scoop out centers.
(Chop centers and reserve.) Fill zucchini loosely with meat mixture.
Heat tomato sauce in skillet; add zucchini, the chopped centers, and any leftover meat mixture rolled into balls.
Cover, simmer 30 minutes or till squash are tender.
With Dolmas, you might serve rice pilau; figs, grapes, peaches; coffee, flaky pastry.
