Turkey Paprikash Recipe
Turkey paprikash is a sour cream turkey recipe prepared with seasoned and roasted turkey. Served with a hot and spicy sauce made with onions and paprika, it has sour cream for a zesty taste. Sliced and served with the sauce, the turkey paprikash makes a full meal when paired with noodles or spaetzle.
Ingredients
3-pound Boneless Breast of Turkey Vegetable oil
5 teaspoons paprika, divided
Dash salt and ground black pepper
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
3/4 cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 cube chicken bouillon dissolved in 1 cup hot water
1 cup sour cream
Hot cooked spaetzle or noodles
Directions
Brush turkey with oil.
Combine 1 tea spoon paprika, salt and pepper in cup; sprinkle on turkey.
Roast turkey according to package directions.
Remove from pan.
Wrap in foil and let stand 10 to 15 minutes.
Melt butter in medium saucepan over medium heat.
Add onion; cook and stir until tender.
Stir in flour.
Gradually add remaining 4 teaspoons paprika and bouillon.
Bring to boil over high heat.
Reduce heat to low; simmer and stir 3 minutes.
Blend small amount of hot mixture into sour cream, then add to sauce.
Heat gently over low heat to serving temperature.
Do not boil.
Remove netting from turkey.
Slice turkey; serve with sauce and spaetzle.
