Turkey Cottage Pie Recipe
Turkey cottage pie is a baked cheesy poultry recipe. Made with pre cooked turkey or chicken, the turkey cottage pie is prepared with golden onion soup for flavor. Cooked with vegetables swiss cheese and turkey, the turkey vegetable mix is topped with hot potatoes and cheese and baked to a lovely melty top!
Ingredients
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 envelope Golden Onion Recipe Soup Mix
2 cups water
2 cups cut-up cooked turkey or chicken
1 package (10 ounces) frozen mixed vegetables, thawed
1 1/4 cups shredded Swiss cheese
1/8 teaspoon pepper
5 cups hot mashed potatoes
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°.
In large saucepan, melt butter and cook flour over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, 5 minutes or until golden.
Stir in golden onion recipe soup mix thoroughly blended with water.
Bring to a boil, then simmer 15 minutes or until thickened.
Stir in turkey, vegetables, 1 cup cheese and pepper.
Turn into lightly greased 2-quart casserole; top with hot potatoes, then remaining cheese.
Bake 30 minutes or until bubbling.
