Turkey Apple Sausage Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 slightly beaten egg white | ||
| Soft bread crumbs | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/4 cup finely chopped peeled apple | ||
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Ground sage | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 1/2 pound ground raw turkey breast | ||
| Lean ground raw turkey, or lean ground beef | ||
| Sage leaves | 4 | |
| Spiced Turkey-Apple Sausage | ||
| Ground cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Ground ginger | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Directions
In a medium mixing bowl combine egg white, bread crumbs, apple, salt, sage, and pepper. Add ground turkey or beef; mix well. Shape into eight small patties, about 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
Place sausage patties on the unheated rack of a broiler pan. Broil 4 to 5 inches from the heat for 4 minutes. Turn and broil for 4 to 5 minutes more or till no longer pink. Pat sausage patties with paper towels. Arrange on a serving plate. Garnish with apple slices and fresh sage leaves, if desired.
