Penne are a type of pasta originating in Italy. They have a cylindrical shape. The ends are almost always cut diagonally. The name comes from that and is derived from penna, which is Latin for "feather" or Quill.

Ingredients

 
·1/2 lb. whole wheat penne pasta
 
·1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
 
·8 cloves of garlic, chopped
 
·2 Tbsp capers, chopped
 
·3 anchovies, minced
 
·1/2 cup kalamata olives, chopped
 
·1 cup cherry tomatoes, quartered
 
·1/2 cup basil, sliced
 
·1 can of albacore tuna in water
 
·black pepper

Directions

·1) First cook pasta according to the box (salt in your water is optional).
·2) Heat olive oil in a large pan and sauté garlic. Once garlic is fragrant add capers, anchovies, olives and tomatoes.
·3) Once tomatoes begin to break down (about seven minutes) add cooked penne pasta, basil, tuna and pepper and toss everything together. Plate and enjoy, you’re gonna love this Quickbites!!
