Triticale Berry Rice Pilaf Recipe
Ingredients
| Water | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Chicken broth | 1 10 3/4 Ounce, condensed | |
| 1/2 cup triticale berries | ||
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| 1/2 cup regular brown rice | ||
| Minced onion | 2 Tablespoon, dried | |
| Ground nutmeg | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Mushrooms | 1 Cup (16 tbs), sliced | |
Directions
In a 2-quart saucepan bring water and chicken broth to boiling; stir in triticale berries and salt.
Reduce heat; cover and simmer 1 hour.
Add rice, minced onion, and nutmeg.
Return to boiling; reduce heat.
Cook, covered, for 40 minutes.
Add sliced mushrooms; cover and cook 5tol0 minutes more or till tender.
Drain off excess liquid, if necessary.
Press mixture into a buttered 3-cup ring mold; unmold onto platter.
Garnish with parsley, if desired.
