Torrijas Recipe
How about trying out some Spanish dessert for this easter? Give this Torrijas, which is actually a variation of the normal bread pudding, a try and you are sure to remember the Easter forever! Yes, seasoned with cinnamon and sherry, the taste of this Torrijas can just be heavenly!
Ingredients
| Bread slices | 10 | |
| Confectioner’s sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs), sifted | |
| Cinnamon | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Eggs | 2 | |
| Sherry | 2 Tablespoon |
Directions
Cut 2 circles from each bread slice with 2 1/4 inch-round cookie cutter.
Sift sugar and cinnamon together; set aside.
Place eggs in small mixer bowl; beat with electric mixer until fluffy.
Strain eggs.
Stir in sherry.
Dip each bread round into egg mixture: Fry in 380°F oil in deep fat fryer until lightly browned on each side.
Watch carefully; Torrijas brown quickly.
Remove from oil with slotted spoon; drain on absorbent paper.
