Tomatoes and Macaroni with Cheese Recipe
Ingredients
2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
4 quarts boiling salted water
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 green pepper,cut in strips
1(28-ounce) can tomatoes
1 cup grated cheese
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 egg, beaten, Cheese-Crumb Topping
Directions
Cook macaroni in boiling water until tender.
Drain; rinse in cold water.
Melt butter or margarine in skillet, and saute onion and green pepper until soft.
Remove from pan, and combine with tomatoes, cheese and seasonings.
Stir in egg.
Pour over macaroni in greased casserole, and sprinkle with topping.
Bake at 350 °F. 30 minutes.
