Tomato Jelly Recipe

Ingredients

 
1 tablespoon granulated gelatin
 
1/4 cup cold water
 
2 cups tomato juice
 
1 small onion, sliced
 
1 bay leaf
 
Few peppercorns
 
Celery tops
 
2 teaspoons lemon juice or vinegar

Directions

Soften gelatin in cold water.
Cook tomato juice and other ingredients for about 10 minutes.
Strain and add to the gelatin.
Pour into individual molds and chill until firm.
Unmold and serve with any greens.
Use any desired dressing.
This quantity will fill from 5 to 6 small individual molds.
When gelatin is partly set, 1/2 cup of chopped celery or a few sliced stuffed olives may be added.
