Ingredients

 
1 28-oz (796 mL) can tomatoes
 
1 tsp (5 mL) sugar
 
1 tsp (5 mL) dry mustard
 
1/2 tsp (2 mL) pepper
 
1/2 tsp (2 mL) each savory and thyme
 
1 tsp (5 mL) paprika
 
1/2 cup (125 mL) celery leaves, minced
 
1/2 cup (125 mL) tomato paste
 
1/2 lb (250 g) macaroni, cooked
 
1 cup (250 mL) cheese of your choice, grated
 
1/3 cup (80 mL) fine breadcrumbs
 
A few spoonfuls of butter or margarine

Directions

Butter an 8-cup (2 L) microwave-safe casserole or brush with oil.
Mix together the tomatoes, sugar, dry mustard, pepper, savory, thyme, paprika, celery leaves and tomato paste.
Make alternate layers of the tomato mixture, the cooked macaroni and the grated cheese.
Sprinkle with the breadcrumbs and dot with butter to taste.
Cover dish with waxed paper.
Microwave 15 to 20 minutes at MEDIUM.
Or preheat the convection part of your microwave at 350°F (180°C).
Set prepared dish in the oven and bake 35 to 40 minutes, or until top is golden brown.
