Tomato Barley Soup Recipe
Ingredients
6 large tomatoes
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon barley
1 tablespoon flour
1 large onion
Salt and pepper
2 cups mutton stock
Coloring, optional
4 teaspoons milk
Directions
Soak the barley for one hour.
Boil tomatoes, onion and barley till tender.
Rub through a sieve.
Heat the butter gently and lightly brown the flour.
Add tomato and mutton stock.
Bring to boil.
Season with salt and pepper; add milk and a few drops of red coloring, if required.
