Directions

For Tom and Jerry batter, beat egg whites with 1/2 cup powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
Beat egg yolks with remaining 1/2 cup powdered sugar until thickened, about 5 minutes.
Blend in vanilla and nutmeg.
Pour over egg whites and by hand, fold together until well blended.
To make Tom and Jerrys, fill mugs 3/4 full with water and heat, uncovered, using chart .
Add 1 heaping tablespoon of batter and 1 1/2 tablespoons each rum and brandy to each cup; stir to combine.
Sprinkle with nutmeg.
