Walnut Toffee Bars Recipe
Toffee bars are chocolaty and nutty bars that can be easily prepared at home for kids. Baked in a jelly roll pan with a chocolate, flour and vanilla mix along with butter and walnuts, the toffee bars are better tha commercially bought chocolate bars and relatively healthier for children.
Ingredients
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups sifted enriched flour
1 6-ounce package (1 cup) semisweet chocolate pieces
1 cup chopped California walnuts
Directions
Thoroughly cream together butter, sugar, and vanilla.
Add flour, mix well.
Stir in chocolate and walnuts.
Press mixture into ungreased 15 1/2x10 1/2x1 inch jelly roll pan.
Bake in moderate oven (350°) 25 minutes or until browned.
While warm cut in bars or squares.
Cool before removing from pan.
