Toasty Prune Betty Recipe
Ingredients
| 4 cups toasted bread cube | ||
| 1 1/2 cups cooked prunes, sliced | ||
| 1 1/2 cups chopped cooking apples | ||
| 1 cup prune liquid | ||
| Water | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Butter | 2 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Place half of toasted bread cubes in buttered casserole or pan (about 1 1/2 quart size), add prunes in a layer, apples, thenremaining bread cubes.
Combine liquids, sugar, salt, cinnamon and butter and boil for 2 to 3 minutes.
Pour over bread cubes.
Bake covered in moderate oven (375°F.) about 1 hour.
