Ingredients
1 long loaf French bread, butter
5 cloves garlic
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teacup grated cheese
a little chilli powder
Directions
Soften the butter. Add the crushed garlic.
Cut the French bread diagonally into thick slices, almost to bottom.
Spread the garlic butter generously between the slices and the top of the loaf.
Sprinkle with the salt, cheese and chilli powder.
Put on a baking tin or if you like, wrap the loaf with aluminium foil and bake (this way the loaf remains soft). Bake in a hot oven at 400 °F. for 15 to 20 minutes. Let the guests break off the pieces.
Serve hot with soup.
