Original Tiramisu Recipe

I had never tried a liquor based Tiramisu until my sister in law made one for me.Here,Tiramisu, is prepared with a generous quantity of dark rum,to be served to all those who would love to have a liquor dessert after their meal.

Recipe Story

There could be a number of ways to make Tiramisu & using rum or any other liquor is just one of them.The liquor based Tiramisu was not known before since it was made for kids & old age people. However,When you are referring to this Tiramisu recipe make sure that you keep it out of your kids hands.

Ingredients

 8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
 Egg yolks4
 Sugar1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Vanilla1 1/2 Teaspoon
 Cream cheese package1 , cut into pieces
 Whipping cream1 3/4 Cup (16 tbs), chilled
 Strong coffee1 Cup (16 tbs), brewed
 Dark rum1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 1 prepared pound cake (or store bought), cut into 4 x 1 x 1/2 inch strips

Directions

Beat egg yolks & sugar & vanilla together in a processor or with a blender,till it turns yellow.Slowly add cheese to it & blend it till it becomes smooth.Once that is done transfer it to a bowl,cover it with a foil & let it chill for an hour.Give a good mix to the cream,until it becomes stiff,mix it into the cheese mixture & let it chill for another 1 hour.Pour out the coffee into a shallow bowl,dip the cake into the coffee & let it soak completely.Arrange this soaked cake on the bottom of a shallow dish & sprinkle the chocolate(cut into small pieces) & top this with cheese mix.Grate the remaining chocolate over the mixture,cover it & chill for atleast 2 hours.
