Ingredients
3 tbsp (50 mL) butter or margarine
2 tbsp (30 mL) flour
1 tsp (5 mL) soy sauce or 1 tbsp (15 mL) dry Madeira
3/4 cup (200 mL) light cream or milk
1/4 tsp (1 mL) salt
1 4-oz (112 g) can chopped mushrooms, undrained
1/4 tsp (1 mL) tarragon or curry powder
Directions
Place butter in a 4-cup (1 L) glass bowl.
Micro wave 1 minute at HIGH.
To the melted butter add the flour and soy sauce or dry Madeira.
Blend to a smooth paste.
Add cream or milk, stir until smooth.
Add salt, mushrooms, tarragon or curry powder.
Microwave, uncovered, 2 minutes at HIGH.
Stir well.
Microwave another 4 minutes.
Stir well.
By this time sauce should be thick and creamy.
If it gets cold before you are ready to serve, stir well, then heat 1 minute at HIGH, uncovered
