Thunder And Lightning Pickles Recipe

Ingredients

 Cucumbers61/2 Pound
 Ice water3 Pint
 Salt2/3 Cup (16 tbs)
 Green sprig 4
 White mustard seed1 Tablespoon
 Horseradish2 Teaspoon, grated
 2 pods hot red pepper, medium size
 Vinegar2 1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Water2/3 Cup (16 tbs)
 Sugar3/4 Cup (16 tbs)

Directions

Wash and peel cucumbers thinly.
Cut in half lengthwise and scrape out seedy portion.
Cut halves in thirds lengthwise, then crosswise.
Put into glass or enamelware bowl and cover with brine made with the 3 pints ice water and the salt.
Cover and let stand overnight.
Drain well.
Divide next four ingredients between two sterilized quart jars.
Heat rest of ingredients to boiling, add cucumbers and simmer 5 minutes.
Pack pickles in jars up to 1 inch from top.
Add boiling solution to 1/2 inch from top.
Seal with glass or enamel lined lids.
Makes 2 quarts.

I am looking for this vintage cookbook that has this recipe (thunder and lightning pickles) on page 438. The book I have is vintage and the front and last pages are missing. I cannot find the name of this cookbook to replace it. Can anybody help me or tell me where to go.
