Thepla Recipe
This Thepla makes a fantastic meal ! I love this irresistibly seasoned gram and wheat flour flatbread with savory tomato dip. Just try this Thepla and let me know if you like it !
Ingredients
| Gram flour | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Wheat flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sesame seeds | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Cumin seeds | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Turmeric powder | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Asafoetida 4 to 5 pinches | ||
| Red chilli powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Oil for shallow frying | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
Directions
Take a bowl and mix all the ingredients in it except the oil that is kept for shallow frying.
With the help of water (as much as required), knead the mixture into a soft and pliable dough.
Divide the dough into 9 to 10 equal portions.
Roll out each portion into a 5" round, and while rolling, sprinkle some flour over each chappati as it helps in the process of rolling.
Place the chappati on a hot griddle and roast it.
Slowly pour some oil to shallow fry and repeat the process for the other side.
Do the same thing with the remaining portions.
