1) In a cheesecloth bag, tie the pickling spices and cloves.
2) In a heavy saucepan, combine together all the ingredients and heat to a boil.
3) Reduce the heat and gently simmer for about 1 ½ hours.
4) Take the pan off the heat and allow the mixture to slightly cool.
5) Remove the spice bag.
6) Into a blender, pour the mixture and blend till it is smooth.
7) Cover and keep aside till it is time to serve.

8) Serve as preferred.
