 Lean minced beef1 Pound

 Tomato1 Can (10oz)
 Tomato1 , chopped
 Green pepper1/4 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
 Chili powder 1 1/2 Teaspoon
 Black olives6 , sliced
 1 French stick
 Garlic butter
 Cheddar1 Cup (16 tbs), shredded

Directions

Break up the beef and stir-fry until meat begins to brown and liquids have evaporated.
Drain off any fat.
Mix in the next seven ingredients and cover.
Simmer 20 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until mixture is thick and spready.
Stir in a few dashes of ketchup and a little hot water if mixture becomes too thick.
Taste for seasoning.
Split French stick lengthwise and toast under a broiler until light golden.
Spread with garlic butter, then thickly with the meat mixture.
Sprinkle with cheese and broil until cheese melts.
Cut into 2- or 3-inch lengths.
