Texas Barbecue Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
| 6 tablespoons unsalted butter or margarine | ||
| 1 1/2 cups each chopped onion and sweet red pepper | ||
| Garlic | 3 Clove (5gm), minced | |
| 1 tablespoon each chili powder and dry mustard | ||
| Cider vinegar | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 cups each ketchup and chili sauce | ||
| 1/2 cup each molasses, and firmly packed light brown sugar | ||
| 3 tablespoons each Worcestershire sauce and liquid smoke | ||
| Hot pepper sauce | 2 Teaspoon | |
Directions
1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over moderate heat. Add the onion, red pepper, garlic, chili powder, and mustard; saute for 5 minutes. Lower the heat, add the remaining ingredients, and simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes. In a food processor or blender, process until smooth. Use on burgers, chops, or ribs. Refrigerate for up to 2 week;, freeze for up to 3 months.
