Japanese Beef Teriyaki Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 1/2 to 3 pounds sirloin steak, cut about 1/2 inch thick | ||
| Soy sauce | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Dry sherry | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Brown sugar | 4 Tablespoon | |
| Ground ginger | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Onion | 2 Teaspoon, grated | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), crushed | |
| Pineapple chunks | 18 , canned | |
| 18 small mushroom caps | ||
| Pineapple juice | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Cornstarch | 1 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Cut steak into 1-inch squares.
Mix together soy sauce, sherry, sugar, ginger, onion, and garlic.
Add meat; marinate 3 hours.
Place steak, pineapple, and mushrooms on skewers, starting and finishing with meat.
Broil or grill about 4 to 5 minutes, until cooked to taste; turn once or twice to brown evenly.
Mix pineapple juice slowly into cornstarch.
Add marinade; cook, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens.
