Tennessee Jam Cake Recipe
I grew up eating this Tennessee Jam Cake frequently and am happy to share this recipe with you. Good 50 minutes are required to prepare Tennessee Jam Cake. This Tennessee Jam Cake is so tasty that I cannot resist serving it as a Dessert often. The most important ingredient in Tennessee Jam Cake is cinnamon. Surely, Tennessee Jam Cake is a recipe one can try out any time.
Ingredients
5 eggs, separated
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1 tablespoon soda
1 tablespoon cinnamon
3 cups flour
1 cup blackberry jam
1 cup strawberry preserves
1 cup fig preserves (or use 2 cups jam, 1 cup fig preserves or raisins)
1 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon allspice
1 cup grated nut meats
Directions
Cream butter and sugar; add jam and preserves.
Add the well-beaten egg yolks and beat until smooth.
Add the flour and milk to which soda has been added alternately, and mix well after each addition.
Add the spices and nuts and mix well.
Fold in the egg whites which have been beaten until stiff.
Pour into well-greased layer pans and bake in a 400-degree oven for 40 to 50 minutes, or until done.
Frost with caramel frosting.
