Directions

MAKING
1) In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking powder, and spices.
2) Beat in the egg and stir in the sugar and butter.
3) Add in the flour mix alternating with milk.
4) Mix till smooth.
5) Fold in the vanilla and lemon rind.
6) In a skillet, heat deep fat.
7) Drop the dough by teaspoonfuls into the hot fat.
8) Fry for about 5 minutes, till brown.

SERVING
9) Serve topped with whipped cream.
