Tasty Fish Chowder Recipe
Ingredients
| Bacon Slices | 2 , chopped | |
| Onion | 1 Medium, chopped | |
| Haddock fillets package | 1 , frozen | |
| Celery | 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Potato | 1 Large, peeled | |
| Water | 2 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Butter/Margarine | 3 Tablespoon | |
| All purpose flour | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Evaporated milk | 2 Cup (16 tbs) |
Directions
GETTING READY
1)Cut Haddock into small pieces and keep aside.
MAKING
2)In a large skillet, cook bacon until soft and tender.
3)Add onion and stir fry until bacon becomes crisp and onions are cooked a golden brown.
4)Stir in haddock pieces, chopped celery, diced potatoes, water, salt and pepper.
5)Let the mixture boil, cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
6)In a heavy saucepan, melt butter.
7)Fold in flour to melted butter over low heat and cook for 1 minute.
8)Now, stir in milk and continue to cook until sauce thickens.
9)Stir in the sauce into the haddock mixture gradually.
10)Continue to stir and cook over medium heat until fish mixture is thoroughly heated.
SERVING
11)Serve during maincourse.
