Frankfurter Tamale Pie Recipe
This Tamale Pie makes me go crazy whenever I try it out for a meal ! Just try it out and let me know if you like it !
Ingredients
| 1 ounce enriched cornmeal | ||
| Cold water | 4 Tablespoon, salted | |
| Boiling water | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Tomato | 1 Medium, diced | |
| 6 ounces cooked ground beef or cooked, finely diced all-beef frankfurters | ||
| Dash each garlic powder and chili powder | ||
| Onion flakes | 1 Teaspoon, dehydrated | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Mix cornmeal to a paste in salted water.
Gradually stir it into boiling water, cover and cook slowly for 20 minutes.
Combine tomatoes with cooked meat.
Stir in seasonings.
In small casserole, arrange layers of cornmeal mush and beef-and-tomato mixture and bake at 350° F. for 30 minutes.
