Taffety Tarts Recipe
Ingredients
| Cooking Apples - 1 pound | ||
| Brown Sugar - 4 ounce, soft | ||
| Sultanas | 2 Ounce | |
| Lemon Rind - 1/2 lemon, grated | ||
| Cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon (Leveled), powdered | |
| Mixed spice | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Short Crust Pastry - 8 ounce | ||
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Grease a 9 inch deep 4 patty tins
MAKING
2) Using a peeler, peel core and slice thinly the apples, reserving a few to top the tart
3) Mix the sugar, sultanas, lemon rind and the spices and apples together
4) Roll out the pastry onto a floured board and cut out 4 circles to line 4 tins
5) Flute the edges of the pastry and fill the apple mixture into the tart
6) Neatly layer in the apple slice over the mixture
7) Bake in the oven for 30minutes till the pastry is brown till the apple is tender
8) Allow to cool in the tin before turning out to serve

9) Serve the tart with some icing sugar sprinkled
