Taco Pie Recipe
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
1 (3 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
1 (8 count) can crescent rolls
8 ounces Mexican Velveeta cheese, diced
Mild jalapeno peppers,chopped
1 small onion, sliced
1 cup shredded lettuce
1/2 cup chopped tomato
1 (6-ounce) can black olives, drained
Directions
Brown the ground beef in a skillet, stirring until crumbly; drain.
Stir in the tomato sauce and taco seasoning mix; simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes.
Unroll the dough.
Separate into a large rectangle, pressing the perforations to seal.
Line an ungreased 8x11 inch baking dish with the dough, pressing into the bottom and up the sides of the dish.
Prick the dough all over with a fork.
Bake at 370 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
Spoon the ground beef mixture into the dough-lined baking dish.
Layer the Velveeta cheese evenly over the ground beef mixture.
Bake for 5 minutes longer or until the cheese begins to melt.
Remove from oven.
Layer the jalapeno peppers, onion, lettuce, tomato and olives over the cheese.
